New Trailer Marks the Beginning of the End for the 'Harry Potter' Movies

Re-Blogged from Yahoo.com

The "Harry Potter" film franchise is going out with a bang. Several bangs, from the looks of it.

The first trailer for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" premiered Monday afternoon, and from all appearances this will be darker and more explosive than any of the previous movies. There's so much action, in fact, it couldn't be contained in one movie. Take a look at the preview now:

After an extended opening showing Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) approaching Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes), the trailer blazes through a montage of some of the big action moments in the films: Harry flies over London on Hagrid's motorcycle, runs for his life through the forest, and gets attacked by a giant snake. Harry's friends also get to show their heroic sides, with Hermione (Emma Watson) standing up to a threat with wand drawn, and Ron (Rupert Grint) swinging a sword.

The trailer also gives a look at the epic scope of the movies. It shows the gigantic dragon that guards the vaults of Gringotts Bank. Hogwarts is surrounded by a dome of fiery energy. And the students run away as the school is blasted with explosions. It all leads up to Harry and Voldemort facing off against each other in the courtyard, locked in their climatic battle.

You're not going to get to see that fight, though, for another year. The first part of "The Deathly Hallows" will open in theaters on November 19 of this year, but the second half won't be out until July 15, 2011. That will be nearly 10 years since the first movie hit screens in 2001.

Splitting one massive "Potter" book into two movies isn't a new idea. The filmmakers considered splitting "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" into separate films, but decided instead to trim out many of the novel's subplots and just focus on Harry's story. That wasn't an option for the sprawling final book, so they chose to divide it into halves. Naturally, they did consult with J.K. Rowling first, and she agreed with their decision.

Both parts will be shown in 3D, though they were shot in 2D and will be converted in post-production. Segments of the past two "Potter" films were adapted to 3D, but this is the first time a full movie will undergo the process.

If you think that saying good-bye to Harry Potter will be emotional for you, don't worry, you're not alone. Daniel Radcliffe said in a recent interview that he and his costars were all overwhelmed when they filmed the final shot of the series. He told MTV, "I didn't expect myself to get particularly emotional but I really did." Radcliffe said the last shot he filmed was a simple stunt of him jumping and rolling onto a mat, and when that was finished, "It just was bizarre; really, really strange indeed."

If you want to catch the new trailer for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" on the big screen, it will be in front of most prints of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" when that rolls out on Wednesday.

when it's over...

when it's over maybe you'll be happy maybe I'll be happy too. i never thought you'll bring too much impact on me. Seeing you with her is okay at first but seeing you giving her a promise ring that we use to have before is very hurting. I am pretty much sure you can't read this and even if it's been long since we last saw each other. it still hurts. i use to love you and i think the right thing to do now is to let you go. Thank you btw.

The Strange Music by G. K. Chesterton

Other loves may sink and settle, other loves may loose and slack,
But I wander like a minstrel with a harp upon his back,
Though the harp be on my bosom, though I finger and I fret,
Still, my hope is all before me: for I cannot play it yet.

In your strings is hid a music that no hand hath e'er let fall,
In your soul is sealed a pleasure that you have not known at all;
Pleasure subtle as your spirit, strange and slender as your frame,
Fiercer than the pain that folds you, softer than your sorrow's name.

Not as mine, my soul's annointed, not as mine the rude and light
Easy mirth of many faces, swaggering pride of song and fight;
Something stranger, something sweeter, something waiting you afar,
Secret as your stricken senses, magic as your sorrows are.

But on this, God's harp supernal, stretched but to be stricken once,
Hoary time is a beginner, Life a bungler, Death a dunce.
But I will not fear to match them-no, by God, I will not fear,
I will learn you, I will play you and the stars stand still to hear.

Biography:
Joseph Vincent is one of the new up and coming acoustic artists striving to make a name for himself in the world of music. Growing up Joseph had an open ear for music, listening to all types of genres from hip-hop to rock. He never really realized he could sing, besides in the shower, until he turned 15 when picked up his first acoustic guitar playing covers like Maroon 5's "Sunday Morning" and Dashboard's "Vindicated". Joseph's musical influences are Jack Johnson, Colbie Caillat, and Jason Mraz to name a few. Jack Johnson's inspiration of simplicity encouraged Joseph's desire to start writing his own music. One year later after picking up that acoustic guitar, knowing only a couple of chords, he wrote his first 2 songs, "On My mind" and "Here for You". Ever since then he's been writing many songs and performing where ever and whenever he can. He has played at well known LA venues such as The Knitting Factory, El Rey Theatre, The Roxy Theatre, and the Troubadour, while also playing at smaller relaxing venues such as The Verity Room, The Daily Grind, and your usual coffee shops. You better look out for this guy because one day you'll hear Joseph Vincent's rhythmic tunes playing on the radio.

Refs must face the music for bad calls

JOHANNESBURG – Forget the millionaire superstars from the soccer’s biggest teams. It is the tournament referees who are the World Cup’s most coddled and protected species.

The sending off of Brazil’s Kaka on Sunday night in a 3-1 win over the Ivory Coast was merely the latest in a litany of atrocious decisions by the men in the middle to cast a shadow over the sport’s showpiece event.

Kaka was given a second yellow card by French referee Stephane Lannoy when the Ivory Coast’s Kader Keita was not looking where he was going and collided heavily with the Brazil midfielder. Kaka merely held his ground for the inevitable contact, and the incident in no way warranted a free kick, let alone a yellow card.
A serious mistake was made. Kaka should suit up for Brazil in its Group G finale against Portugal on Friday but instead he will be suspended due to Lannoy’s erroneous red card.

So what about the repercussions for Lannoy?

Well, let’s see. First of all, he gets a chaffeur-driven ride back to the luxury base where all the World Cup officials are cloistered, away from the prying eyes of the media, or God forbid, the public.

Then, if he fancies it on Monday, Lannoy can get a nice massage from an on-site physiotherapist and some restaurant-quality room service before – and this is the best bit – consulting a ready-and-waiting sports psychologist to help him handle the stress of his exertions on Sunday night.

At no point will he be held accountable. At no point will he have to explain his decisions. Not to Kaka. Not to the fans. Not even to FIFA.

Lannoy’s performance will be evaluated like all others – by the FIFA referees committee. The review may be expedited due to the glaring nature of his errors. Yet until he is either called to officiate another game or removed from the final shortlist of elite refs who will take charge of the all-important knockout games, he can remain in his happy little bubble.

And therein lies the biggest problem with the World Cup.

Human error is part of sports and with FIFA having taken the decision to steer clear of video replay, it is inevitable. But this is the World Cup, the best of the best. Except for the men in charge.

Just two days after the United States had what would have been an invaluable victory stripped away by Mali official Koman Coulibaly, Lannoy messed up. Not once but twice.

First, he allowed Luis Fabiano to clearly handle the ball en route to scoring a spectacular goal that put Brazil up 2-0 on its way to a comfortable victory at Soccer City. Then, with time running out, he found himself in an obstructed position and misread the collision between Keita and Kaka. Ivory Coast head coach Sven-Goran Eriksson claimed that Brazil “shouldn’t complain, they got a goal for free and it changed everything.”

There is no foolproof solution to this, but if FIFA, as it insists, is truly interested in making sure its referees are up to international standard it has to stop treating them like children. Referees should be made available to questions from reporters after each game, so that the fans who have spent good money to come to the tournament or given their time to watch it on television can get some answers for why their team was gypped.

What we should be talking about is the brilliance of Brazil, which with two goals from Fabiano and one from Elano, produced the best display of this World Cup so far. We shouldn’t be talking about a Frenchman who works as a video games distributor when he is not taking charge of real life matches beamed around the world.

And he shouldn’t be talking to his psychologist tomorrow. He should be talking to us.

You are my distraction.

You are my distraction.
June 8, 2010 10:13 PM
Ridiculous, I am but I assure you my sanity is intact when I get a glimpse of you,
I never had this feeling ever since I met, you know who…
Challenge, that is for me to face with everyday. Chances, I am to take, for I am bound to wait.
Heart-break it gives me when I can’t see you in a day or two.
Acting as if it’s just normal, for you did not swear that your heart is mine and you’ll always stay true.
Righteous you are, to make fun of me, “I know I’m over the top and I’m acting like a person to unlike”
Dear you, I miss the time you were a far coz now you’re here yet I feel that we are still apart.

The word that appears from above is the person I’m longing for months and months. I know you don’t feel the same way as I do but let me think of you as a special part of my heart that is super longing for you … I love you from the day I met you.
